Stockroom's 'Kink Month' Offers BDSM Lessons, Sales

LOS ANGELES — Just in time for Halloween, Stockroom.com has declared October "National Kink Month."

BDSM lessons are being posted each week on blog.stockroom.com, and weekly sale items can be found on www.Stockroom.com. The free lessons will teach readers how to use bondage restraints, floggers, chastity devices, and other kinky toys featured each week.

Stockroom maintained that while the leather hoods, masquerade masks, whips, and other accessories on sale make excellent Halloween costumes, it’s really the holiday’s spirit of sexual exploration and expression that make it seem the right season to shed light on what BDSM and fetish play is all about.

“Kinky sex is based on experimentation, adventure, and exploration of roles and dynamics that are often different from the day-to-day lives we lead,” Stockroom founder Joel Tucker noted. “Halloween, for adults, is an occasion for playing with sexy costumes, assumed identities, and the enjoyment or humor in the darker side of life (think of 'The Addams Family'). Kink, Halloween, and the month of October are a natural fit."

Learning kinky sex tips from an expert during Kink Month is more truly a public education and outreach effort than a sale, the company said. Stockroom envisions that the bondage lessons and fetish sex tips blogged this October will continue to turn the public on to safe, easy ways to add BDSM role play to their regular sex life in years to come.

Stockroom said its staff takes their role as a resource for the sexually adventurous very seriously, so the current mainstream interest in fetish sex made this upcoming series of BDSM lessons seem especially timely.

“With the recent popularity of the ‘Fifty Shades of Grey’ books, a lot of people are curious about BDSM and asking questions, but there aren’t a lot of qualified answers. Kinky sex and roleplay often use tools with a learning curve, and this specialized knowledge is beyond the scope of most beauty and health magazine columnists,” Tucker explained.

The company noted that it has a background in sex education as the owner of Daedalus Publishing that specializes in erotic instructional books by top sex educators, and has been in business for nearly 25 years designing, making, and selling bondage gear and BDSM toys to people of all experience levels.

Kink Month blog posts instruct curious users on topics from the very basic — like how to use a butt plug comfortably — to more advanced subjects like nipple torture or medical role play.
