CHATSWORTH, Calif. — Smash Pictures has set a Jan. 10 release date for director Jim Powers' "This Isn’t Fifty Shades Darker II," the first sequel to its chart-topping "Fifty Shades" parody.
"This porn parody is not a run-of-the-mill porno — its core is bondage," Smash Pictures President Dan Quinn said. "It's sure to live up to the first part with the imaginative work created by Jim Powers to imitate the 'Fifty Shades Trilogy.'"
Based on book two of E.L. James's record-breaking "Fifty Shades" book trilogy, the send-up follows Anastasia Steele as she attempts to kick start both a career in publishing and a life without tormented sexual deviant Christian Grey.
Allie Haze and Ryan Driller reprise their roles as the film's leads. Costars include Brooklyn Chase as Christian's younger adoptive sister Mia, Maddy O' Reilly as a former submissive, Evan Stone as Anastasia's boss Jack Hyde, Elexis Monroe as her office manager and Danny Wylde as her brother.
"Choosing Allie Haze and Ryan Driller for the two leads was a magical chemistry," Smash Pictures Vice President Stuart Wall said. "During shooting ["This Isn't Fifty Shades Darker II"] the sparks were still there, and it comes across in the film.
"We had our entire cast of porn stars read the books so they could get a feel for their characters," Wall continued. "We also added our own twist."
A second sequel based on James' third novel "Fifty Shades Freed" will shoot in November.
