Playhouse is quickly becoming a force in Europe. In June, Playhouse signed an exclusive deal to bring lines from Zero Tolerance, Black Ice Limited and Third Degree to the European market.
“We're excited to have Playhouse serving as the exclusive distributor for our titles,” Sin City General Manager Scott Justice said. “We anticipate that this relationship will be a rewarding and fulfilling experience for all involved.”
Playhouse also handles European distribution for lines from K*Beech, Metro Interactive and Digital Sin/New Sensations, among others.
“I consider Sin City and Mayhem titles to be of the highest-quality possible and am excited that we have the opportunity to add them to our roster,” Playhouse President Bert Ruzette said. “I am proud to be the only legal distributor for Sin City and Mayhem in all of Europe.”
Piracy of adult DVDs has become a major problem in Europe, where it is often more difficult for retailers to identify bootlegged product or to know which companies have legal rights to distribute lines. As a result, European distributors have become vigilant to guard against piracy of their clients’ DVDs.
Shortly after announcing its deal with Playhouse, Zero Tolerance issued an alert warning that it had uncovered evidence of illegal distribution of its product in Europe.
