LOS ANGELES — Girlfriends Films announced today that it has wrapped principle photography on a benefit video for ailing Girlfriends Films performer and director Elexis Monroe.
Production on "Lesbian Sex: Vol. 10" began last month during the Christmas holiday. The eight featured performers agreed to donate half of their booking fees to help pay for Monroe's medical expenses, with Girlfriends Films matching their contribution.
“I’m very proud of all the girls that stepped up to help,” Girlfriends Films owner Dan O’Connell told XBIZ during its visit to the set in December.
“I’ve always wanted to broadcast how great the talent is in our business. We’re such a vilified industry; we have to try especially hard to make a good impression on the general public, but if people could see our true colors in these situations, it may change their minds.”
Monroe (pictured in green dress) in November was diagnosed by doctors to have an abscess growing in the bones of her face, an infection caused by bad dental work.
Monroe underwent emergency surgery to prevent facial disfigurement and the spread of infection into her bloodstream.
Though the abscess has since been drained, Monroe must still undergo two more bone grafting surgeries to repair the damage to her face.
"Lesbian Sex: Vol. 10" features performances from Jessie Andrews, Sinn Sage, Samantha Ryan, Lily Cade, Zoey Holloway, Aaliyah Love, Elle Alexandra and Sovereign Syre. Monroe guest stars as host in the reality-based production.
