NEW YORK — Gay porn star Arpad Miklos was found dead in his apartment on Sunday, a victim of suicide. His death was confirmed by friend Randal Lynch on the YouTube program "Gwissues with Howard Bragman."
Miklos, real name Peter Kozma, was 45.
"He was a great guy, and on top of that, there was a lot more to him than just that surface persona," Lynch said. "He was a very active person in the gay community, he gave a lot of money to charities."
Miklos, a former chemist in his native Hungary, was discovered in 1995 by gay studio Kristen Bjorna Productions. He soon moved to Los Angeles and starred in more than 110 adult videos, including titles for Falcon, Lucas Entertainment and Titan.
Lynch told "Gwissues" that Miklos was depressed and had left a suicide note with burial instructions addressed to an ex-boyfriend.
"[Miklos] wasn't happy, I would say, but he wasn't going into crying fits," Lynch noted. "He would never let you know that he was down. He was a hard nut to crack."
