FLORIDA — COLT performer and professional bodybuilder Karim, real name Christian Bouthillette, has died at the age of 52. His body was found on Jan. 28 at the Wilton Manors apartment he shared with his boyfriend.
A toxicology report is still pending, but FloridaAgenda.com speculates that Karim may have died from a massive heart attack brought on by a drug overdose, citing his recent Miami arrest for cocaine possession.
On its blog, COLT Studios wrote, “It is with a heavy heart that we report that we have lost one of our most cherished COLT Men from the COLT history books and as of recent, Mr. COLT Man Karim."
In addition to working for COLT, Karim was employed as a personal trainer by Steel Gym owner Ken Hunt.
“He was very friendly, but I remember him saying that it was funny how most people only saw him as this big muscular guy, how they felt they 'knew' him from his fame as a Colt model," Hunt said. "But that wasn't the deeper part of Christian. It's really a terrible loss.”
