NEW YORK — Fetish star and dominatrix Julie Simone has expanded her talents to include fashion design, and is using Indiegogo crowd funding to raise funds for her budding line.
The star is offering a limited edition line of “wearable art” tees that feature 10 of her designs that blend her fetish photos and paintings. The models in this initial run include Gia Paloma, Nikki Sebastian, Bella Vendetta, Sinnamon Love and Allanah Rhodes. The two tees of Vendetta are the only images that have her in the submissive role.
Simone’s crowd funding campaign features multiple levels of giving and offers donors rewards including a simple thank you, stickers, t-shirts, boxed sets of DVDs, and custom videos.
The star has produced a special video to further explain the project that has about a month left in the campaign.
“I’m only making 100 copies of each shirt; it's unique, collectible wearable art,” Simone said. “Unlike DVDs, you can’t download a t-shirt. If you want it, you have to buy it, and I like the idea of creating something like that. I have a ton of more ideas for the line — this is only the beginning.”
Her Indiegogo plea reads, "I've been an artist for as long as I can remember. I've shown films at festivals all over the U.S. and in Germany. My photography has been published and exhibited in galleries. My recent medium is painting. These shirts are a fusion between my paintings (watercolors and acrylics) and my photography.
"This fundraiser will help fund a new corporation, on line presence and the printing of this new t-shirt line. I worked very hard on the designs to make them something unique; they are wearable art. I am only printing 100 of each design."
