The distribution deal is open ended, and Nocturnal plans to produce one movie per month.
“The deal between Shane’s World Studios and Nocturnal Productions is guaranteed to be great for both companies,” Jennie Grant, owner of Shane’s World, said. “It’s hard for us to find another product that we want to put our name on, but with Nocturnal we see something that no one else is doing. Nocturnal Productions is taking the hardcore edge in gonzo, focusing on niches and adding entertainment value with the reality factor. We are excited to welcome them aboard.”
Nocturnal Productions is a brand new outfit, releasing its first movie in late September. Shane’s World Vice President of Sales Megan Stokes had gotten word about the up-and-coming studio and brought it to the attention of owners Jennie and Brian Grant. The lynchpin of Nocturnal Productions is niche-based gonzo production that seeks to bring the fun back to gonzo, Stokes said.
“Since taking over our own distribution, it was time for us to move in the direction of expanding our roster so to speak,” Stokes told XBIZ. “We were looking for something that was a little different, yet fun and in keeping with the Shane’s World name and the type of product our fans expect from us.”
Nocturnal Productions first-ever title is “The Great American Squirt Off” starring Flower Tucci, Cytherea, Angela Stone, Lexi Love, Kat and Felony in a competitive squirting challenge. The squirt-off took place in a boxing ring with play-by-play commentary, and Ron Jeremy served as a celebrity judge.
The company plans to continue the Great American series of competitions for different niches such as blowjobs and anal in the coming months.
“We loved the concept of this movie,” Stokes said. “It’s a fun, reality-style competition with a cash prize for the winner. The girls took this very seriously, plus Shane’s World had never done a squirting movie before, so this was an exciting new direction for us.”
The thing that separates Nocturnal Productions from other gonzo production studios is its true embrace of niche filmmaking, according to Stokes, because, “They truly understand the fetish aspect of making a niche movie and catering to those fans,” she said.
“We chose to have our movies focus on different niches, but wanted to show the pornstars being themselves and having fun,” Ian Friedman of Nocturnal Productions said. “We were tired of seeing the same movie with the same girls. We do our research and find girls that really enjoy whatever that movie’s theme is. We plan to make some solid porno while letting the girls explore their sexuality. There is nothing sexier then that.”
