WASHINGTON — The Food and Drug Administration is warning consumers about three sexual enhancement products sold on various websites — Rock-It Man, Libido Sex Enhancer and Stiff Days
All three products, the FDA says, contain sildenafil, the active ingredient in erectile dysfunction prescription Viagra. Libido Sex Enhancer also includes tadalafil, the ingredient used in Cialis, in addition to sildenafil.
The penis pills are marketed as 100 percent herbal but contain those regulated ingredients.
According to the FDA, Rock-It Man is sold in brick-and-mortar stores as well as online at stores like ShopInPrivate.com; Stiff Days is sold at StiffDays.com; and Libido Sex Enhancer is sold at VegasRedPleasure.com.
Consumers are advised to stop using the products immediately and throw them away.
"Sildenafil and tadalafil may interact with nitrates found in some prescription drugs such as nitroglycerin and may lower blood pressure to dangerous levels," the FDA says. "Men with diabetes, high blood pressure, high cholesterol or heart disease often take nitrates."
A number of websites, including eBay.com, market all three pills for about $2-$3 apiece.
