WASHINGTON — The Food and Drug Administration today continued a wave of warnings over penis pills marketed as organic but include ingredients used in prescription drugs Viagra and Cialis.
Today, the FDA warned about Ninja Mojo, Love Rider and AFFIRM XL.
The penis pills are marketed as 100 percent herbal but Love Rider and AFFIRM XL contain various amounts of tadalafil, the active ingredient used in Cialis. Ninja Mojo, the FDA said, contains sildenafil, the active ingredient in Viagra.
Love Rider is distributed by Nutratech Inc. of Woodridge, Va.; Ninja Mojo by Ninja America Inc. of College Point, N.Y.; and AFFIRM XL LLC of Ladera Ranch, Calif.
Last week the FDA warned about Rock-It Man, Libido Sex Enhancer and Stiff Days.
"Consumers should stop using this product immediately and throw it away; consumers who have experienced any negative side effects should consult a health care professional as soon as possible," the FDA says.
"Sildenafil and tadalafil may interact with nitrates found in some prescription drugs such as nitroglycerin and may lower blood pressure to dangerous levels. Men with diabetes, high blood pressure, high cholesterol or heart disease often take nitrates."
All of the penis pills are marketed on the web, and AFFIRM XL also markets the product on TV infomercials.
