James Deen Joins HotMovies.com for ‘FreedomStreams’ Tax Day Benefit

LOS ANGELES — James Deen is throwing his support behind online adult streaming service HotMovies.com in its “FreedomStreams” benefit for the Free Speech Coalition (FSC).

Deen joins more than 100 adult production studios/principals, which have volunteered their April 15 earnings from HotMovies.com to FSC. HotMovies.com will match the first $10,000 in contributions.

Studio revenues earned on Deen’s video-on-demand website, JamesDeenVOD.com, on April 15, will benefit FreedomSreams. Deen’s site is a subsidiary of HotMovies.com.

"I am proud to support this industry, especially in a creative way like this," Deen said. "I encourage everybody to check out the movies on HotMovies.com and my VOD site this Monday, and support Free Speech Coalition.”

HotMovies’ first FreedomStreams fundraising event took place in 2006. For three years, the annual event raised thousands of dollars for FSC, the adult industry trade association.

“We are elated to bring this important event back to life," said HotMovies Director of Business Development, James Cybert. "Our goal is to raise 20 grand, and we are pleased to have James Deen on board to help us reach that goal. Now is the time to do it, as our industry is entrenched in a crucial fight. We need the FSC on the front lines more than ever.”

Deen won the XBIZ Male Performer of the Year in January for the second time in his nine-year career. He also received the XBIZ Crossover Star of the Year award. His next appearance will be at the Atlantic City, N.J. debut of Exxxotica, April 19-21 in the Trump Taj Mahal Casino Hotel.

On the mainstream side, Deen is featured in the upcoming film from Paul Schrader and Bret Easton Ellis, "The Canyons," with Lindsay Lohan. He is also producing a new mainstream steampunk short film, "Cowboys and Engines" and is starring in a new film noir project called "Novel."
