'Leaving Las Vegas' XXX Parody Wraps

LOS ANGELES — Septo Studios wrapped its XXX take on the boozy Nicholas Cage classic “OMG ... It's The Leaving Las Vegas Parody.” The film, directed by Jordan Septo, will be distributed by Juicy Entertainment.

“I had been successfully doing parodies of some very iconic feel good movies of the 80's and 90's such as ‘Ghost,' ‘Flashdance’ and ‘Dirty Dancing,’” Septo told XBIZ. “And while I wanted to do another movie from those periods, I wanted to do something with a little more meat and something more dark. Hence came the idea to do ‘Leaving Las Vegas,' one of my favorite movies of all time.”

According to Septo, he envisioned casting Tommy Pistol as Nicholas Cage since the inception of the script, and Pistol miraculously expressed interest in doing the “Leaving Las Vegas” spoof even before he knew it was in the works.

Opposite Pistol is Anikka Albrite, who was cast because of her strong resemblance to Elisabeth Shue, Septo said.

Pistol, who recently scored a mainstream role on a Sci-Fi original production, “Jurassic Block,” said he “felt honored” to embody Ben Sanderson, the character that earned Cage the 1996 Oscar for Best Actor.

“It’s great because everything that I’m getting to do things that I’ve grown up watching or really admired,” Pistol told XBIZ. “So, the fact that I get to step into those shoes, as close as possible … it’s not a mainstream movie, but we’re doing something we know and love, that we’re fans of. I’m getting to say signature lines and be kooky and kind of play the part.”

Pistol has played the XXX version of legendary characters like Robert De Niro in "Taxi Driver" — scoring the 2012 XBIZ award for Best Actor — The Karate Kid and Pee Wee Herman.

While parts of the parody were filmed in California, Septo and his crew traveled to Las Vegas to shoot some of his adaptations of the iconic scenes from “Leaving Las Vegas” because Septo believed “it was really important to the integrity of the movie.”
