Maleflixxx Improves Infrastructure

TORONTO — Gay video-on-demand company Maleflixxx has put its money behind its technology, recently completing a dramatic infrastructure overhaul of its video encoding capabilities.

According to Eric Johnson, president of Sureflix Digital Distribution, which owns and operates Maleflixxx, the company decided to invest in its hardware, software and staff to dramatically increase encoding capacity. The increased capacity will translate into higher quality content, Johnson said, adding that the company also expects to be able to provide its global audience with a greater degree of content variety.

“We have experienced strong growth this past year,” Johnson said. “The continued growth of the Maleflixxx network and its roster of exclusive and non-exclusive studios means that more movies from more studios are premiering on Maleflixxx than ever before. To meet those requirements, we have overhauled our encoding suite, streamlined our processes, invested in new software and added two new staff members to help keep up with demand. This allows us to encode more movies, while maintaining the high level of quality that our users have come to expect.”

Maleflixxx encodes each movie it distributes online in both RealPlayer and Windows Media formats. Movies are encoded at six different bitrates, color corrected and edited into scenes. Exclusive content is released with hardcore and softcore trailers.

“We are committed to providing our partners with the best digital distribution services available,” Johnson said. “The expansion of our encoding studio is just the latest in a series of ongoing investments to support our partners with more announcements planned for the coming months.”
