Jameson to Appear in Mainstream Film

LOS ANGELES — Adult film star and crossover celebrity Jenna Jameson will appear in an upcoming mainstream horror film, XBIZ has learned.

Jameson, who recently sold her Club Jenna to Playboy for an undisclosed sum, will play a city councilwoman in “Sin-Jin Smyth,” a film listed as being in production on IMDB.com.

The horror movie stars former professional wrestler Roddy Piper and Richard Tyson.

According to the film’s IMDB entry, “Sin-Jin Smyth” takes place over Halloween weekend, when the Devil simultaneously appears in two places: the high plains of India and a cemetery in a small Kansas town. The site describes the plot as involving two federal marshals who receive orders to cross the state border to transport a mysterious prisoner named Sin-Jin Smyth during a tornado warning.

For Jameson, who is no stranger to the mainstream, picking a horror film was her first choice.

“I'm a huge horror movie fan, so those are usually the scripts that I read," Jameson told the movie news website IESB.net.

Although Jameson will not grace the big screen with the assets that catapulted her to adult entertainment fame, the decision to cast her, according to Robert Peterson, who operates the self-described movie geek news website CinCity2000, was a good one.

“What’s neat about the casting decision is that it’s a geek movie to begin with [because it has Roddy Piper],” Peterson told XBIZ. “Putting Jameson in it is going to get even more movie geeks to come out and see it, even though she doesn’t get naked.”

An official release date has not been announced.
