HotMovies Signs Girlfriends Films to 3-Month Exclusive

PHILADELPHIA — Girlfriends Films, a production studio that focuses on the softer side of lesbian sexuality, has inked a pact with HotMovies.com to provide the video-on-demand service with an exclusive three-month window to stream its content.

Born out of a UCLA film class, Girlfriends Films shies away from using established, “big name” porn stars in its movies, and instead focuses on real-life girlfriends, or amateur girls with little exposure in adult films in hopes of capturing realistic, true-to-life lesbian content, Girlfriends Films President Dan O’Connell said.

Girlfriends Films shoots two primary lines, “Women Seeking Women” and “Lesbian Seductions – Older/Younger.” For the initial launch, HotMovies.com has three titles from Girlfriends Films available to stream on its pay-per-minute purchasing platform, including “Texas Video Store Seductions,” “Who’s Your Mommy” and “Lesbian Hospital – Orgasmic Response Unit.”

“Girlfriends Films has been one of the top requested studios at HotMovies.com,” said James Seibert, director of business development for National A-1, the parent company of HotMovies.com. “With the addition of Girlfriends Films, we are presenting some of the best and most realistic lesbian content that has never been available online. Their explicit content has broken new ground with innovative themes and lush detail. Few lesbian movies come close to the quality Girlfriends Films offers.”

O’Connell said he chose HotMovies.com for its solid reputation within the adult industry. The studio’s deal with HotMovies.com is the first time Girlfriends Films’ content will be made available to consumers through VOD.

“Ever since I got into the adult video business I've firmly believed that VOD is the inevitable direction of the industry,” O’Connell said. “Despite this, we’ve never before licensed our content to any VOD company. We wanted to make sure that our VOD debut would be with a company we could fully trust and who would do a great job of promoting us. I’ve spoken to many producers over the past four years and finally decided that HotMovies.com is the best partner for our first licensing deal.”
