PASADENA, Calif. — Hugo Schwyzer, Pasadena City College's "porn professor," said today that he will take time off from teaching to deal with the fallout from a sexting scandal involving an adult video actress who offered to have sex with him in his classroom.
Screen shots of Schwyzer's text exchanges with the porn actress, reportedly Christina Page, began appearing on several websites in the past few weeks.
Page said Schwyzer asked her to participate in a threesome with him and porn actor James Deen, who spoke to Schwyzer's class, "Navigating Porn," in February.
Schwyzer admitted sexting Page and acknowledged sending explicit photographs.
In an exchange between Page and Schwyzer on Facebook, she offered to have sex with him in front of his class and film it, according to a report. "Perfect," Schwyzer replied at the time.
The professor said he has withdrawn from teaching because he broke down and attempted suicide as a result of the texts and several extramarital affairs.
Schwyzer said the breakdown was also prompted by a resurgence of his bipolar disease and a personality disorder.
As a result, teaching the porn class was a dangerous "trigger" that lead him to stray from his marriage.
Schwyzer said he hopes to return to teaching history classes in the spring.
