LOS ANGELES — Celebrity sex tapes are still in demand, according to the most recent survey of adult fans conducted by Vivid Entertainment and XCritic.com, which finds that pop singers Katy Perry and Justin Timberlake are the performers that most adult movie fans would like to see in a sex tape.
On the female front, Perry received approximately 26 percent of the votes, besting rival Selena Gomez, who garnered nearly 20 percent of the votes. Rihanna came next, getting slightly more than 10 percent, while Miley Cyrus pulled nine percent. Beyonce, Christine Aguilera, Fergie, Shakira, Britney Spears, Pink, Madonna, Lady Gaga, Nicki Minaj and Mariah Carey all trailed in the survey.
On the male front, Timberlake’s 28 percent is a commanding lead among the stars noted by respondents asked which male pop star they most wanted to see in a sex video, with a 13 percent vote for Psy. Adam Levine garnered nearly 10 percent, while Usher and Enrique Iglesias each had just over eight percent, with John Mayer and Justin Bieber each taking around six percent. Male singers earning less than five percent were Bruno Mars, Bruce Springsteen, David Bowie, and Nick Jonas edging out Joe Jonas, Chris Martin and Prince. Although Harry Styles was on the ballot, he received no votes.
As an indication of the seriousness of the respondents, the recent Sex Tracker survey also indicates that around 57 percent of respondents check one or two website reviews before buying an adult movie, while 21 percent check three or four, and more than 22 percent “just go for it” without referring to any reviewer opinions.
Nearly 24 percent of survey respondents purchase at least one movie per week, and more than five percent buy four or more. Watching porn takes up less than 10 percent of the free time of 42 percent of the respondents, while 16 percent said they spend more than 30 percent of their free time viewing adult movies.
As for the mainstream appeal of sexuality and stardom, nearly 27 percent of respondents claimed they will watch Canyons, the new movie starring Lindsay Lohan and adult star James Deen. It may be a small percentage, however, compared to the 36 percent that said they won’t watch it and the 37 percent who said they hadn’t heard of the film.
The Sex Tracker Survey is periodically conducted by adult film review site Xcritic.com and leading adult company Vivid.
