LOS ANGELES — Stockroom.com is participating in this year's Movember fundraiser, kicking off with a Movember Launch Party tonight at its Silver Lake headquarters in Los Angeles.
Everyone who donates to or participates in Movember has his or her own motivation. Stockroom Director of Operations Shawn Gentry shares his on the company’s blog.
“I lost my father three years ago to poor health. He was always very athletic and outdoorsy but, I fear that later in life, my dad fell into depression that led to him fall into poor health which ended his life far too soon,” he said. “I will never stop wondering if there is anything I could have done to help that would have kept him here a little longer to get to know my daughter and watch her grow up into the beautiful little girl she is today – maybe even getting to see her graduate from high school, college, or beyond. But I’ll never know.
“So, I decided to be a healthier, fitter me and vowed to start eating healthier and less, getting regular exercise, drinking more water — and just taking better care of myself, as well as doing the regular maintenance of getting regular checkups, prostate exams, and spreading awareness whenever I have the chance. This will be my 4th year participating in Movember.
“Part of our mission at The Stockroom is to promote the ideal that making fetish and kink a part of your lifestyle can lead to a healthier, happier you. So, we plan to share tips and recommendations throughout the month of November to show you how.”
Stockroom’s Movember Launch Party is slated for tonight from 7-10 p.m., and will feature raffles with prizes donated from Vibratex, Fun Factory, Aneros, Knot Rope and OXBALLS. Additionally, DJ Mich will be spinning tunes and party guests will receive 15 percent off at its retail store during the event.
According to the company, mustache growing members of The Stockroom’s Movember team will be shaving any remaining facial hair at the party, and presenting their baby-smooth faces to all attendees.
Stockroom is located at 2811 W. Sunset Blvd., in Los Angeles.
