LOS ANGELES — A very special relief benefit for the victims of the recent typhoon that hit the Philippines will be taking place Sunday at Brooklyn Projects in Los Angeles from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. The event is open to the public.
Daisy Marie, Kiara Mia, Christine Mendoza, Justene Jaro, Lana Lopez, Alexia Lei and Mia Guinto are among the many models who will be in-person to help host this charity drive. The stars will give out free posters and 8x10s to anyone who brings in a donation of non-perishable goods, clothing, shoes and toys.
The performers also are asking the public to bring other much needed items, such as hygiene kits, first-aid supplies, children's clothes and baby wipes.
"I am very happy to lend my support to this relief effort. The people in the Philippines really need our help right now, and me and the girls are hoping you will all come down and contribute what you can. Plus, you'll get to meet your favorite models and stars in person," Marie said.
Typhoon Haiyan is one of the biggest-recorded storms to hit the globe on record today. News reports from the Philippines indicate 921,200 people are displaced by super typhoon Hiayan and 11.8 million are affected.
