LOS ANGELES — BBW star Kelly Shibari has received nominations in two categories for the 2014 XBIZ Awards, the performer announced today.
Shibari is up for Best Non-Sex Acting Performance, while her movie, “Chubby Safari,” is nominated for Best Fetish Release.
“It’s an honor to be recognized by an industry publication such as XBIZ,” Shibari said. “This year has been simply amazing; branching out into non-sex acting roles and continuing to produce films has been a part of my growth, and I have been consistently humbled by the many opportunities that have been presented to me. As a non-traditional performer in this industry, it’s a recognition that certainly does not go unnoticed. Thank you, XBIZ, for these nominations.”
Shibari's foray into non-parody, non-sex performing has merited ther first Best Non-Sex Acting Performance nomination, in Wicked Pictures’ “Summer Loving.” Shibari said she translated the script and presented dialogue in her native tongue for the majority of the film under the direction of Barrett Blade.
The fetish DVD, “Chubby Safari,” features four scenes with solo to large toys in various kink/fetish scenarios including puppy play, pony play, zentai, and more.
Hosted by adult film superstar Jenna Jameson, the XBIZ Awards ceremony will take place on Jan. 24 in Century City, Calif. amidst the XBIZ 360 event series.
