XBIZ 360 to Forecast ‘Future of Adult Film’

LOS ANGELES — In the grand finale panel of this year’s XBIZ 360 Adult Film Conference, eight industry leaders will meet Friday in Hollywood to discuss the “Future of Adult Film.”

The lifeblood of adult film is fresh content that keeps consumers coming back. But what kind of material is moving the dial in an era where supply may outweigh demand?

A diverse panel of studio heads with track records for creating content that sells regardless of the economic climate will offer their analysis on a variety of topics at the session scheduled for 4 to 4:50 p.m. inside the Great Room 1 at the W Hotel.

The confirmed speakers include: Kelly Holland, managing director for Penthouse; Spike Goldberg, CEO of Homegrown Video; Dan O’Connell, former president and owner of Girlfriends Films; Bob Christian, general manager of Adam & Eve; Axel Braun, owner of Axel Braun Productions distributed by Wicked Pictures; Jules Jordan, owner of Jules Jordan Video, and John Stagliano, owner of Evil Angel. The session will be moderated by Jeff Mullen, co-owner of X-Play/All Media Play.

“Where do you even begin to forecast the future of adult?” Mullen said. “I know some psychics who have gone out of business trying to figure this out but this is exactly what is going to make for a lively exchange, and we need to know. I will be moderating a fantastic panel of experts with their own insight so if you're serious about the industry, don't miss this event.”

Penthouse’s Holland remarked, “The future of our industry is always dictated by emerging technologies but I now believe that emerging markets like Africa and China, as well as changing demographics, will be an equally profound influence.”

Indeed, the group will address shifting consumer tastes, emerging trends and also how best to adapt to the changing methods of content creation, delivery and consumption.

The XBIZ 360 Adult Film Conference is being held concurrently with the Digital Media Conference this Thursday and Friday.
