CNBC Asks Stars About Their Post Porn Plans

LOS ANGELES — Mainstream’s fascination with porn stars never seems to dwindle, especially during the height of the industry’s busiest conference and awards season.

CNBC recently went as far as to canvass some of the top names as to what they’re doing to feather their nest post porn careers.

Among some of the big-name stars collared were Asa Akira, Justine Joli, Prince Yashua, Nina Hartley, Joanna Angel, Riley Steele and Ron Jeremy.  Even director/producer Jules Jordan weighed in on his future plans.

“Porn is an industry where retirement can come without warning,” CNBC wrote, noting that many careers last less than three months and those who get past five or six years are veterans.

Savvy adult talent described plans that ran the gamut from simple savings and investing to having real estate licenses and even producing marijuana beef jerky.

"I make pot for a living outside of doing this. I'm an edible maker and I'm trying to change the way pot is viewed and also how it's eaten. ... I'm different than most edible makers as I am licensed by the state of California," Joli told CNBC.

Stars who have been around for some time realize that their fame is fleeting and are trying to branch out.  Hartley said that although sex is her thing, her focus may change. She’s doing some stand-up comedy, coaching and teaching.

“I've learned a lot in 30 years and I know I can make it work to feed me when I'm old, because it's not going to be my 401(k), baby,” Hartley said.

Those behind the camera also weighed in. Jordan said he started preparing in the mid-2000s when his company was “printing money.” Despite his nest egg he said he’s still running camera and shooting movies until he’s physically unable. “I collected a pretty good sum of money, dug a hole in my yard and stuck it in there. Not too many risks for me,” Jordan said.

Burning Angel chief, Angel, will continue to build her brand and possibly open a strip club or store, while Steele may open a hair salon.

And to no one’s surprise, legendary porn everyman Jeremy, with his numerous endorsement deals, said he’s already pretty much set for life.
