Sex & Censorship Supporting Moral Panic Film Club Event

LONDON — Sex & Censorship announced today its support of the Moral Panic Film Club event, "an evening of disgust and moral panic," to be held on Feb. 7 in Hackney, East London.

The event is organized by Backlash, which campaigns for free sexual expression.

Jerry Barnett of Sex & Censorship will participate in a panel discussion about moral panics and censorship. There will also be screenings of “Video Nasties: Moral panic, Censorship and videotape,” a 2010 documentary made by James West. Also on tap is the 1971 film “The Devils,” starring Vanessa Redgrave and Oliver Reed, which features scenes of a violent, sexual and religious nature.

The event will be held at The Hackney Attic, 270 Mare Street, London E8 1HE, and will begin at 7 p.m. Tickets are £15: full details at the Backlash website.
