SAN FRANCISCO — A public memorial is set for adult legend Gloria Leonard on Feb. 27 at 7 p.m. at the Center for Sex & Culture (CSC) in San Francisco.
Leonard passed away on Feb. 3 in Hawaii.The organizers said the gathering would celebrate Leonard’s extraordinary life as a Golden Age porn queen, publisher and free speech advocate.
Colleague and legendary performer Annie Sprinkle, along with CSC director/co-founder Carol Queen, will host the memorial. Other of Leonard’s colleagues including Howie Gordon, aka Richard Pacheco (author of the recently-released memoir “Hindsight”), and Sharon Mitchell, are also expected to reminisce about Leonard and their time together in the adult industry. Also expected are CJ Laing, Kellie Nichols, Jerry Heath, and perhaps more of Leonard's friends.
Sprinkle said, “The grand dame of porn was a grand friend, and a treasured soul sister. Thank you, Gloria Leonard.”
The Center for Sex & Culture is located at 1349 Mission, between 9th and 10th Streets, San Francisco, California, 94103. The memorial is open to the public but restricted to those over 18 years of age.
