Evan Stone to Make Mainstream Stand-Up Debut at 'Comedy Gang Bang'

LOS ANGELES — Adult star Evan Stone will perform a special stand-up act on April 24 at the “Comedy Gang Bang” that also is part of a documentary.

The Dallas native Stone will be the featured act on a night that will also include comedy from Joe Kwaczala, Chris Stephens and Joe McAdam. The “Comedy Gang Bang” starts at 9 p.m. at Paladino’s Club at 6101 Reseda Blvd., in Tarzana, 91335.

Adult star Kayden Kross told XBIZ Thursday that she and a team of other producers now are more than three months into filming a yet-to-be-titled documentary about male porn talent that is centered on Stone, who has amassed more than 1500 movie credits in his 16 years in the upper echelon of the industry.

The doc will have a decidedly comedic tone, according to Kross.

“We have been producing a documentary on male talent and what they go through and we chose Evan as the subject because he’s naturally, ridiculously funny,” Kross said. “He has a very good sense of himself and a great sense of humor with everything he does.”

It turns out Stone already has created a comedy routine themed around his career choice that he’s done casually at various porn conventions. But April 24 will mark the first time he takes his act in front of a primarily “non-porn” audience.

“We knew that we wanted to follow male talent and follow someone that was funny, and we finally figured out what the story was,” Kross continued. “At the end of the day, this business is really kind of funny and we just wanted to show that light side with a bunch of really cool people seeing it for what it is and having fun in life. Evan is kind of the epitome of that.”

While the doc will have a “mockumentary” feel, Kross said her producing team isn’t “setting up false situations.”

“We just want it to be entertaining,” she said.

Her producing partners include mainstream vets Brandon Dermer and Jack Wagner, along with Stone himself.

“We knocked out a ton of interviews with industry performers who all weighed in on Evan Stone, but the focus is on Evan. Evan is supposed to be our representation of male talent,” Kross said.

Dermer in 2012 directed the "No One Survives” music video that was performed by the metal band Nekrogoblikon and quickly became a viral sensation. It was viewed more than 1.5 million times in the first three months on YouTube. Kross said the idea for the Stone documentary came about when she met Dermer on the Nekrogoblikon set and shared a few funny stories about him.

Dermer in 2011 also directed the popular short, “Fleshlightning,” a spoof of Fleshlight that starred Jenna Haze. The “Fleshlightning” theme song later became a music video.

“He’s an amazing director who has perfect comedic timing,” Kross said.

She said fans and industry members are welcome to attend the show on April 24. There is no cover charge and there will be a full bar and a live band after the comedians perform.

“I’d love to have a lot of industry people there because they get the joke, but we’re aiming for a ton of mainstream people there, too,” Kross added. “We want everyone to invite their friends.”
