Wasteland.com to Sponsor 'X-Run' Obstacle

COCONUT CREEK, Fla. —The inaugural "The X Run" has announced that Wasteland.com will be sponsor of the Dominatrix Dungeon obstacle which will be found on the 5k course to be held on May 31 at the Historic Virginia Key Beach Park in Miami, Florida.

"We at Wasteland are thrilled at the opportunity to sponsor and support Kelly and the X run. It's great to see folks being innovative and sex positive in the adult industry and this one has the added bonus of supporting some great charity work. Ready, Set, Go,” said Colin Rowntree, founder and CEO of Wasteland.com.

The organizers said the run was created to promote sexual positivity and healthy living. The first annual X Run, sponsored by SLS.com and Wet, encourages both novice and experienced runners to take part in the event. The run will be raising funds for Clitoraid.org — a nonprofit association focused on offering free medical services for the physical restoration and rehabilitation for FGM (female genital mutilation) victims.

The Run is an untimed, adult-themed, 5k (3.1 mile) obstacle course and mud run for men and women of all fitness levels.

“The X Run celebrates physical fitness and sexual health, and I am elated to find a location that recognizes the value of our event,” organizer and founder Kelly Perez said. “Since its establishment, The Historic Virginia Key Beach Park has been a progressive monumental site in Florida’s history. We are pleased to have the inaugural X Run at this culturally relevant, tropical paradise.”

The Run will accommodate 4800 registrants and include numerous adult-themed exhibitors, “Competitors can enter on their own, as a pair, or as a team. Just make sure you’re over 18,”  Perez added.

Competitors will tackle 14 obstacles like the Dominatrix Dungeon and the Blue Balls Dash. The post-race party will keep the action going with adult starlets, live music, food vendors, beer stands, a mud wrestling pit, a Mr. and Ms. X Run Competition and more. While there will be no sex or nudity on the run, there will be non-stop action, plenty of physical challenges and lots and lots of mud.

“This event has been organized with fitness and fun in mind, but most importantly, we are encouraging a positive attitude towards sex and a healthy lifestyle,” Perez said. “As well as being physically challenging, competitors will learn sexy new ways to keep fit with our pole dancing and burlesque demonstrations. They may even take away some great ideas for the bedroom from some of our adult-themed exhibitors.”

Registrants will receive a free X Run T-shirt, one free beer ticket, a condom wrapper-shaped medal and entry into the post-run party.
