Polish Performer Misha Cross Rises to Occasion in U.S. Debut

LOS ANGELES — If there is such a thing as the right attitude for porn, Misha Cross possesses it.

The Polish performer knows what she wants and it shows.

“Porn lets me really express myself because you can be everything,” Cross told XBIZ. “You can be anybody in porn.”

That freedom is something almost impossible to attain in a “regular job,” according to the former bartender and college student from Warsaw who started her porn career a year ago in Europe.

“I don’t want to be rude about other people,” Cross said. “You have to have guts to do porn also. It’s not for everybody.

“But if you’re sure of what you’re doing, if you’re focused on what you’re doing, if you know what you want and if you want to do porn, then porn is for you. Because if you have a creative soul you can really express yourself.”

Now she’s proving it.

While Cross made her porn debut in Budapest and Prague last year, what will be remembered as her official arrival without question will be the body of work she laid down this summer during what turned into a whirlwind trip to Los Angeles.

The 24-year-old landed in the porn capital of the world for the first time in May after receiving word from her Budapest-based agency Brill Babes that Adult Talent Managers (ATMLA) wanted to represent her in the States.

May wasn’t all that busy for her, but Cross did enough to generate the buzz that led to her working almost non-stop throughout June and July. In fact she became so in demand that she was turning down bookings and considered rescheduling her flight back to Poland at the end of last month.

“I love it so far. I’m really satisfied with being here,” Cross said in an exclusive interview in mid-July. “I’ve shot for companies that I’ve always wanted to shoot for and this was my main goal when I arrived here. I was like, ‘I want to shoot for him, for him, for this company, which I really do respect.’ And actually it happened. I’m so excited about it that I had this experience to work for those people.”

In addition to working with anal specialist Mike Adriano, her wish list included jumping in with gonzo heavyweights Manuel Ferrara and Jules Jordan, both of whom she did. She also shot with Brazzers and for yet another Evil Angel director, Dana Vespoli, for the second volume of “Fluid.”

“I was so happy about it because actually I like the series so much. I’ve just been lucky I guess,” said Cross, who pays attention to who’s doing what by scouting social media and frequenting websites such as EvilAngel.com.

The performer at the time of the interview also was preparing for what could be her biggest movie so far, as Ferrara cast her in a showcase title called “Misha Cross Wide Open” that he co-directed with Kayden Kross for his namesake production company — also distributed by Evil Angel.

“I’m so excited and I’m so honored and flattered really that he chose me to do a big movie. It’s a big deal. I’m pretty happy about it,” Cross said.

She squared off with Ferrara in an anal scene on the first day, romanced Kross on Day 2, threw down for a blowbang on Day 3 and closed with a double-penetration encounter with Mick Blue and Ramon Nomar on Day 4.

“I’m totally satisfied with the things I’ve done here so far,” Cross said before the “Wide Open” shoot even began. “All my idea about Los Angeles totally met the reality now. The whole porn community, the companies. The weather. Simple stuff. Like you dream about something and then it really happens.”

Cross recalled how she longed for something more exciting in her life while she was studying and working in Warsaw.

“I decided to join porn pretty late, right, because I was 23 years old. I started working when I was 18 but I was a bartender. I was a waitress. I worked in a clothing store. You know like jobs that you do when you’re a student. Also I was attending university. I studied sociology and photography. I have a degree in sociology,” she revealed.

“You know what, I did all these jobs. I don’t want to call them shitty jobs but still, I didn’t really feel good about what I’m doing. And I just felt that it doesn’t give me any satisfaction in life and it’s not allowing me to express myself in a way that I would like to express myself.”

So one day she started Googling porn companies and agencies.

“I just found some sources and found some people that I can email that I’m willing to do it and I’m focused on that right now. And just like two or three weeks later I was already on the agency site,” said Cross, who was represented by Sandy’s Models in Budapest before also joining Brill Babes.

“It was really like a quick decision, like ‘why not? Why not porn?’ I didn’t have any questions. I didn’t have any doubts about it. I didn’t really think about what is the ‘no.’ I was only focused on the ‘yes.’”

And now it’s hard to say “no” to Cross, who already has drawn comparisons to former porn superstar Sasha Grey.

A regular for Evil Angel’s deep stable of shooters, Cross’ earliest work included scenes with Rocco Siffredi in “Rocco’s Psycho Teens 7” and “Rocco’s POV 33” as well as performances for Budapest-based David Perry in “Blow Me Off” and “Perry’s DP’s 7." She also appeared in French director Pierre Woodman’s “Woodman Casting X 114.”

Not only is Cross an all-natural model with a mysterious gaze, she also unleashes a penchant for depravity when the cameras roll. She said that finding her place in the industry has allowed her to do things she otherwise would be too embarrassed to inquire about at parties.

“This is why also I joined porn, because I’m pretty open-minded. I always liked sex, that’s obvious. But also porn allows you to do things that are really impossible to organize in real life, if you know what I mean,” Cross said with a smile.

“Like threesomes, gangbangs, girl/girl stuff. It’s awkward to sometimes ask for it in your real life. Like, ‘hey, maybe we could have a gangbang or something, I’m willing to do it.’”

Cross continued, “Sometimes in your real life it’s really awkward and not really comfortable for you to ask for it because you know that people have their boundaries and limits and stuff. In porn, everything is considered normal.”

When Cross is off set, she loves photography and also reads a lot of books, especially by American writers.

“I like Charles Bukowski or Philip Roth,” she said. “Those writers are really dramatic and really depressing.”

She also likes reading horror.

“I’m most interested in that gloomy, depressing stuff. It’s because you can really feel that it’s a real life, that it’s not fantastic bullshit that they’re going to tell you or ‘50 Shades of Grey’ or whatever. You can really get into it and you can really feel that it’s like a real-life story because everybody has got their ups and downs in their life.

“You can really put yourself in that situation because we all have our demons I guess. You can relate to it.”

She’s planning some down time in Poland and then she’ll begin shooting again in Budapest before returning to the U.S. in January

“To be honest, I would prefer to stay here for sure because I really feel like I’m doing something that I’ve always wanted to do when I’m here. But yeah I have to work. So I’m going to work again in Budapest,” Cross said. “I’m looking forward to work for Rocco again.”
