For White Tiger, which was originally established to help American producers raise their profile in the U.S. market, the decision to represent a British production house was something of a departure from the company’s business model. But Rob Ragan of White Tiger told XBIZ that Queer Britannia’s content was simply too good to overlook.
“There isn’t enough American product in the U.S., that’s why I started White Tiger,” Ragan said. “But Queer Britannia makes a great high-end product. I’ve been reluctant to carry anything that's not produced here in the states but sometimes you've got to bend the rules to do what's right. They haven’t had proper representation in the U.S. and I want to change that.”
Under the terms of the exclusive deal, White Tiger Releasing will put out one Queer Britannia title per month, beginning with “The Fucking Office,” a spoof of “The Office,” the popular British sitcom since adapted for American TV.
“We have made a huge investment in our product,” Queer Britannia Creative Director Mark F said. “We certainly believe that these films are second to none and have truly grabbed the unique London feel of hardcore gay film making. We are more then confident that White Tiger Releasing will do an exceptional job of us here in the U.S.”
“The Fucking Office” is scheduled for a Dec. 19 release, with “XXX Factor” to follow Jan 23.
