VividTV Europe Channel Set to Launch Nov. 1

LOS ANGELES — The new VividTV Europe channel, announced today, will offer the "local flavor" of Europe and be 24/7.

“In order for any channel to truly be successful it must have a local flavor and appeal to the constituency of the territory,” said Bill Asher, co-chairman of Vivid Entertainment, “VividTV Europe is designed specifically for the European market.

"The channel will deliver the most popular content in Europe, both through acquisitions as well as programming from Vivid Entertainment, owner of the largest single adult studio archive."

The new channel is planned to complement Vivid’s existing European video on-demand distribution and be led by two senior executives — Tony Cochi, executive vice president worldwide distribution of VividTV, and Stephen E. Walter, senior vice president of business development for Canada and Europe.

Asher noted that distribution deals with several major European operators will be announced shortly.

He said that the new European service comes on the heels of last week’s announcement of a Vivid partnership with VanessaTV in Canada to create a local channel. VividTV Canada launches Oct. 28.

VividTV launched its 24/7 linear channel in 2013 in North and South America, and the company extended its U.S. service to Europe in April of this year. VividTV is available in more than 70 million homes.
