NEW YORK — The story of Belle Knox, a Duke University student who was “outed” as a porn star, is similar to the main plot point of tonight’s “Law & Order: SVU” episode, airing at 6 p.m. PT on NBC-TV.
“’SVU’ is my favorite show,” Knox said. “I’m thrilled they are basing the lead character for this week’s premiere episode off of my story. It’s surreal.”
Tonight’s “SVU” episode centers on a young coed who presses charges against several male students after an on-campus gang rape. It’s eventually revealed that the coed is also a porn performer.
The Special Victims Unit detectives discuss how the young lady could have possibly thought she could keep the fact a secret given how accessible such information has become on the web.
The storyline is taken straight from tabloid coverage of when Knox was “outed” as a porn star by a fellow Duke University student earlier this year.
The preview of tonight’s “Law & Order: SVU” episode, entitled "Pornstar's Requiem," can be seen here. “A case so twisted … it can only be SVU,” the announcer says.
