XVN.com Enters Live Testing Phase

MILL VALLEY, Calif. — After much fanfare and more than a year in development, video-on-demand website XVN.com has recently launched its live testing phase. XVN.com is exclusively part of the XPays affiliate network.

XVN.com’s webmaster affiliate program is not open yet, but will debut when the site comes out of live testing and fully launches early next year. However, the site is now open to all consumer traffic.

“Not only do we have a great domain, but also I feel now is the time to really bust in and take it right to AEBN and HotMovies.com,” XPays President Evan Horowitz told XBIZ. “We spent millions of dollars in development and we’ll spend more on advertising, marketing and branding the site. XVN is not another white labeled site, since it was built from the ground up. XVN is competing directly with AEBN and HotMovies. We want to be the leaders in the industry. But first, we must make sure all the bells and whistles work before we put it out there for real.”

Live testing the site off of Google traffic, Horowitz said that conversions were impressive, and will be even better as the site transitions out of its live testing phase. While in testing, the company is experimenting with multiple site designs, adding thousands of full-length titles, shoring up backend support, setting up toll-free customer support and live web chat, and continuing to test its proprietary content delivery technology and storage systems.

XVN.com’s full launch includes two straight sites, two gay sites, more than 150 studio partners supplying content, and more than 15,000 titles.

The consumer appeal to XVN.com lies not only in the sheer breadth of content across niches and studios, but also in its delivery. All content is playable in different formats and across multiple platforms like Windows Media Player, Apple Quicktime and RealPlayer.

“The backbone behind XVN.com is designed to exploit all the content we have,” Horowitz said. “We have put so much energy into the content delivery, I think people will be impressed by how functional and advanced the site is. Where others have cut corners, we’ve improved upon.”

The primary business model for XVN.com is pay-per-minute streaming, but also accommodates full-title rentals on a pay-per-view basis and even download-to-burn, which is coming soon. The site also boasts exclusive VOD content that Horowitz said none of his competitors have.

Horowitz said XVN.com has true broadband streaming so the user can skip to any point in a scene and not have to wait for the video to buffer — a common downfall of VOD sites, he said.

Certain not to eschew the needs of webmasters, XPays designed an affiliate program with their needs in mind, according to Horowitz.

“XVN.com is a webmasters wet dream,” Horowitz said. “It will operate on a revshare platform because of the recurring nature of the model. XPays webmasters will earn profits for the lifetime of the user. We have webmaster centric data dumps, RSS feeds, more than 250,000 unique pages and tons of custom promo tools. On our backend, we built our own raid system, network, switches and fiber. This site is truly a beast waiting to come out of its cage.”

On the free hosted gallery side, XVN.com will offer webmasters one gallery per scene, per title.

“My team is here to listen to webmasters, and we crave that type of positive interaction,” Horowitz said. “We have tons of unique pages and galleries that are unparalleled in the industry. From this point forward, XVN.com is a freight train running over anything in its path.”
