The film, which is a twink-themed take on the popular novel “Lord of the Flies,” is the brainchild of Hyde Park Productions co-owners Doug Knight and Ted McIntyre.
According to Knight and McIntyre, the success of the company’s 2006 releases has enabled them to invest in a big-budget location feature.
“Ted and I have always had a vision of doing twink movies, not just videos,” Knight said. “The project we thought of the most was ‘Lord of the Boyz.’ Whether it was due to time constraints or just not finding the perfect location, we just weren’t able to do the project when we first wanted to and we had to put it on the back burner.”
McIntyre, who will direct the film, said he plans to use a cast of American twink models, including Cameron Phillips, who appeared in “Twink Toy Story 2” for Hyde Park and Billy Parks, who performed in “Twink Playmates” and “Twinks at Play.”
The remaining six cast members are all newcomers to adult entertainment, McIntyre said.
Rob Ragan of White Tiger Releasing, which handles the exclusive distribution of Hyde Park titles, said he expects “Lord of the Boyz” to be a big hit with consumers because of the attention to quality.
“White Tiger is the distributor of Hyde Park Productions and we will market ‘Lord of the Boyz’ 110 percent,” Ragan said. “We know that ‘Lord of the Boyz’ being is their biggest and most expensive project to date and will be one of the biggest sellers out there.”
To further promote the film, White Tiger has selected video-on-demand provider AEBN to handle the exclusive Internet distribution of “Lord of the Boyz,” which will premiere on the site March 25.
“Hyde Park is one of the best twink video production companies out there,” AEBN Gay Content Manager Chris Baker said. “We are very proud of their success, especially after Hyde Park Productions was awarded the 2006 Best Gay Feature Award. When they offered us exclusive broadcasting rights for ‘Lord of the Boyz,’ it would have been foolish for us to pass up the opportunity.”
