CHATSWORTH, Calif. — Pipedream is no stranger to the mainstream spotlight — just last month its Icicles were featured in Newsweek’s Special Edition on “Fifty Shades.”
Now the company’s got The New York Times and Women’s Health to add to its list of international coverage.
Both publications followed Newsweek’s lead, offering their take on what many are calling a new “sexual revolution,” in response to the “Fifty Shades” erotic trilogy by EL James.
The New York Times piece, “Sex Toy Shops Prepare for Tie-Ins to ‘Fifty Shades of Grey,’” offers in-depth coverage of the “Grey”-inspired kink boom. Industry leaders are quoted on their take of the phenomenon, including Pipedream Chairman and CEO Nick Orlandino.
“My personal opinion is that there’s going to be a sharp spike, and then it’s going to tail off rather quickly,” Orlandino told the publication.
Women’s Health offers “expert advice for better relationships and bolder sex” in their latest issue, introducing readers to hyperstimulation and hand-picked “pleasurably painful” toys, including Pipedream’s Fetish Fantasy Gold Magnetic Clamps.
“We’re so proud to see Pipedream continually recognized in every mainstream mention of ‘Fifty Shades’,” Pipedream PR Manager Sabrina Dropkick said. “Fetish Fantasy Series has become an international sensation, and this recurring coverage proves that it is truly the number one beginners bondage collection in the world.”
