LOS ANGELES — Bonnie Rotten told XBIZ directing movies often comes down to making quick decisions and adapting to the moment.
“I’ve definitely learned I have to roll with the punches,” said Rotten, who recently turned 22 and has already directed 14 titles, many of which have yet to hit the streets, since debuting behind the camera last spring.
“You never know what’s going to happen 10 minutes before a scene, an hour before, or during the scene. You have to be dynamic and ready for changes.”
Producing and directing has already become almost a full-time proposition for Rotten, who is maintaining a hectic schedule helming four movies per month — two for Elegant Angel and two more for Germany’s Beate Uhse.
“It can be frustrating sometimes, but I absolutely love it,” Rotten continued. “It’s really cool to be able to have an idea, pick the talent and execute the idea with those talent.
"Going to houses, helping girls pick an outfit, watching the sex explode on screen. I love watching it all unfold.”
And when she isn’t planning her next movie or on location capturing one, she’s probably in an airport somewhere or in her dressing room getting ready to go onstage. One of the most in-demand feature dancers in the country is already booked at gentlemen’s clubs every weekend through April 2016.
“I can’t complain,” Rotten said. “I’m definitely happy. I love making money.”
The Rotten Era at Elegant Angel got underway with “Ink’d Squirt” in late March. And that title is being followed by “Busty Pin-Ups” in June.
But this past week she wrapped her latest Elegant Angel project, “Natural Youth,” casting performers Keisha Grey, Whitney Westgate, Karlee Grey and Sydney Cole.
“They’re all young girls with no work done, very natural and each did a boy/girl for me,” Rotten said. “We shot at a beautiful location in Beverly Hills.
“I focused on the sex. The tease was shot on location in the backyard with lots of plants and great scenery, just really nice stuff, clean.”
She added, “What I was looking for were girls that had beautiful faces and also had a beautiful body. No heavy makeup. I wanted their beauty to be the focal point of the movie.”
Keisha Grey paired up with Nat Turnher; Westgate took on Will Powers; Karlee Grey squared off with Marco Banderas; and Cole got down with Seth Gamble.
“Keisha had sex in the middle of the backyard in front of a beautiful coy pond with Nat,” Rotten said.
Westgate and Powers went at it in an all-white bedroom, while Rotten showcased Cole and Gamble in another room with a striking color scheme that was all tan and baby blue.
“After I shot Sydney for this movie I shot her again,” Rotten said.
The movie will be dropping in August from Elegant and Rotten, who has also begun operating the second camera on her shoots, finding her groove with it for “Natural Youth.”
“It’s been good. It’s definitely hard to learn the adjustments for all the settings. That’s the most challenging, but it’s really cool. Now I’m able to put my vision more into it,” Rotten said.
Her agreement with Elegant Angel entails producing and directing one movie a month that she owns through her studio BR Entertainment and another that Elegant owns.
“I love working for Jerry,” she said. “He wants the viewer to be happy and for the sex to be hot. That’s important to me and important to him.”
Her next release “Busty Pin-Ups,” a 1950s-inspired title, features performances from August Ames, Mercedes Carrera, Vyxen Steel, Olivia Austin and Rotten herself.
“We used a lot of motorcycles and really cool cars,” Rotten said.
“Mercedes and Karlo [Karrera] actually did a scene in the back of an El Camino and it was awesome. August Ames and Ramon [Nomar] did a scene on David Lord’s car, and me and Vyxen did a scene in front of a motorcycle. That was a squirting fiesta.”
