Extreme Associates owner Rob Black was originally approached in late 2006 by Baller Nation’s owner The Pope who wanted to put the company’s hip-hop stars in adult movies, but the timing was not right to complete a distribution deal. After the project stalled, Black pursued The Pope and the two came to terms.
Baller Nation also operates a new record label dedicated to finding and launching new underground talent straight from the street.
Black said he is going to work closely with Klientel, a young rap artist on Baller Nation’s roster, to make sure the girls, music and production are professional and that the movies remain true to hip-hop culture.
Matt Zane will supervise the music side of each Baller Nation release, which will contain a music video. Three months after the movie hits the streets, Baller Nation will release a full-length companion CD of exclusive tracks.
“I looked around and nobody seemed to have the music and the porn covered like these guys,” Klientel said. “Rob knows the ins and outs of the porn game. The guy’s got knowledge. Zane is a true indie music madman. I seen some shit he’s done and it blows me away.”
“This is not your typical start up black-on-black company,” Black said. “Baller Nation is already a lifestyle. These are real hip-hop artists living the life. They bring us into their world and we just capture it. With Klientel showing us what’s really going on, the energy is like nothing else out there.”
