James Deen’s Fundraising Party for Short Film Set for Tonight

LOS ANGELES — Limited tickets are still available at the door for adult star James Deen’s fundraising party to benefit his upcoming short film project, “OverKill.”

Sponsored by Pabst Blue Ribbon, the event will be held at 8 p.m. today at Busby’s East (5364 Wilshire Blvd; Los Angeles, 90036) and is open to the general public.

Featuring music, food, drinks, and James Deen, the party will give participants a chance to make Deen’s “OverKill” a reality by raising needed funds for the proposed short film, which blends comedy with horror. Tickets are still available at the door for a $15 minimum donation, where credit cards and cash will be accepted. All proceeds will go toward the Deen-produced film.

To RSVP to the event, visit OverKillFilm.com.

The event will include raffles for prizes, a silent auction for special gift items, games, and fun booths that include the James Deen Booth, where Deen will slap players for $20 and sign anything party goers want for $10. There will also be PBR bean bag toss and a darts booth, where players can take aim at a Justin Bieber image — a shot to the head earns a James Deen sticker, while a shot to the heart receives PBR swag.

“I want people to have fun and enjoy themselves,” Deen said. “I am personally looking forward to signing autographs on some pretty weird stuff… and I’m looking forward to seeing what the things are that people bring for me to sign.”

The raffle will yield five prize packs, including: the “OverKill Pack” with a poster, script, DVD/Blu-ray (upon release, and a walk-on role in the movie; James Deen Pack with a sex toy, movies, and posters; James Deen Porno Pack with 21 DVDs; Pabst Blue Ribbon Pack with PBR swag; and a VIP experience for four people to “Point Break Live” in Hollywood, an action-packed stage adaptation of the iconic 1991 action film.

Adam Carolla’s signature wine cocktail, Magria, will also be one of the many prizes attendees can win. For more information, visit CarollaDrinks.com.

Known for his work as an award winning adult producer/performer and a mainstream media favorite, Deen has also entered into indie filmmaking the past year with the debut of his short film, “Cowboys & Engines,” a steampunk-themed Western.

Although “Cowboys & Engines” raised more than $100,000 through a popular KickStarter.com campaign, Deen decided to go a different route for “OverKill” in order to breathe excitement into stale crowdfunding tactics.

“Crowdfunding sites are so 2011,” said Deen when asked about his reasons for throwing the party. “Help us fund this movie, which we are doing for the sheer fun of it and probably won’t make any money off of, and let’s party!”

“OverKill” is the brainchild of young filmmaker Alex Montilla, writer/director/editor of the short film “Cheat Day,” as well as an editorial assistant on “Hot Tub Time Machine” and “The Muppets.”

The party’s location, Busby’s East, is recognized as one of the top sports bars in Los Angeles and for its exclusive corporate and private events held in multiple private rooms and lounges, which offer access to full bars with unlimited food catering options, in addition to a state-of-the-art sound and lighting system. All of which may be enjoyed by guests of James Deen’s “Overkill” party.
