JAKARTA, Indonesia — Police this week busted a ring of pirates that flooded the Glodok, West Jakarta, region with counterfeit porn DVD movies.
Jakarta Police on Thursday said that the ring, which worked in a wholesaler capacity, produced more than 2,000 porn DVDs a day for at least six months.
Jakarta Police spokesman Agung Marlianto told the Jakarta Post that authorities first learned about the distributor through the Internet and that an investigation yielded six arrests.
In a raid, police uncovered more than 10,000 counterfeit porn DVDs.
The Post said the six will be charged with violating Article 80 of Law No. 30/2009 on films and Article 29 of Law No. 44/2008 on pornography.
