CHATSWORTH, Calif. — Giant Media Group Inc., parent company of Devil’s Film, on Thursday said it acquired worldwide DVD distribution sales rights for Third World Media, Grooby, Gia Darling Entertainment and Direct Japanese Imports.
Steve Volponi, vice president of sales and production for Giant Media/Devil’s Film’s, told XBIZ that the deal means a more dynamic operation for all of the brands.
“Giant Media Group will be involved in the sales efforts, but Third World Media is still going to be doing all shipping, invoicing and accounting right from their current offices,” Volponi said.
Volponi noted he’s very familiar with the genres they produce, as well as the web presence they have built.
“I think having them on board with us, it will expand their coverage in other areas they may be missing, and create some new packaging strategies along the way,” Volponi told XBIZ. “We plan on having one to two meetings a month where we come up with new specials, talk about marketing the products in various ways. It’s exciting. I love this kinda shit.”
Upon comment, Steve Scott, president of Third World Media said, “For us to be joining forces after all these years speaks to the longevity of our companies and to the compatibility of our companies. We look forward to a bright future together."
News of the distro deal had Third World Media director Ed Hunter calling it “exciting times.”
“The kings of the transsexual genre have come together and the opportunities for us are endless,” Hunter said.
