LOS ANGELES — Nikki Phoenix and her music duo partner JackEL have inked their first festival performance booking, headlining Las Vegas Hempfest on Oct. 3 at the Las Vegas Convention Center.
Phoenix and JackEL are the EDM group JackELd Phoenix, which is signed to the Sights & Sounds record label. Their Hemp Fest performance will feature a circus act performance as well as their hit song "Your Smile," which has already received almost 2.8 million plays on Soundcloud and was the platform's No. 1 trending song in May.
"JackEL and I, and our label have been floored by the response from our friends, industry supporters, EDM fans and DJs," Phoenix said. "It's been an awesome experience appearing at clubs across the country in support of our music and seeing such a positive response from our fans and the EDM community. It's also gratifying to see that these days, fans seem to see people as artists, and not label people as 'adult' or 'mainstream.'
"Since I feel like everything I am doing is an expression of who I am and my passions, I'm very, very happy to see that shift as I firmly believe everyone should be seen as who they are as a person and not what job they do, and therefore shouldn't be pigeon-holed by labels that these days seem quite archaic."
"Your Smile" also has been in heavy radio rotation in Canada, Europe and the U.S.
Their latest song, "Two Hearts ft Skip Martin," a collaboration with Grammy-winning artist Skip Martin, is available for purchase across all digital media platforms and Beatport.
That track has already received 1.25 million plays on Soundcloud as the duo focuses on their next single "Days Like This" and the completion of their album.
In adult, Phoenix has just shipped the second title in her distribution deal with Juicy Entertainment, entitled "Pretty Kitties."
The all-girl movie features Capri Cavanni, Allison Moore, Alexa Nova, Taylor May, Eva Long, Ariel Winters, Frida Sante and Hannah Hartman. Her first release "Candy Lickers" was picked up for broadcast this week.
"We are ecstatic about the response for her second release, which has just been gaining momentum as her first release has been picked up for broadcast because of it's phenomenal sales response," said Jerry E., owner of Juicy Entertainment. "We are positive that her continued success in her music and mainstream endeavors have really helped drive sales to us, and it's extremely helpful to us that she and her management team understand how to market her and her line and provide us not just with innovative tools for marketing and sales, but also the promotions and marketing on her end to help us with her line's success."
In addition, Phoenix's exploits were covered in this month's issue of Hot Video Magazine, which is based in Paris. The October issue on newsstands next week in France talks about her musical accomplishment and her future plans.
The Hemp Fest booking comes on the heels of JackELd Phoenix hosting a sold-out "Your Smile" release party event at Winston's Supperclub in Dallas last month.
