SAN FRANCISCO — A memorial service for Candida Royalle will be held on Sunday, Oct. 25, at the Center for Sex & Culture.
The gathering, hosted by Annie Sprinkle, Veronica Hart, Veronica Vera and other friends and family, will begin at 5:30 p.m., with the memorial from 6 to 7:30 and an after-glow and potluck from 7:30 to 9. The Center for Sex & Culture is located at 1439 Mission St. in San Francisco.
Organizers said the gathering is open to all who wish to attend: "Everyone and anyone that wants to come remember and/or pay homage to Candida Royalle; relatives, old and new friends, fans, colleagues, admirers, lovers, people who have been inspired by Candida’s work...
"Please bring... memories, stories, show and tell items, photos, altar items, a potluck dish to share and something to drink."
Another memorial is being planned for Sunday, Nov. 22, in Manhattan.
Royalle, the feminist erotic filmmaker, porn star, artist, singer and sex toy innovator, passed away on Sept. 7 in Long Island, N.Y., from ovarian cancer.
