SAN FRANCISCO — Good Vibrations has announced its release of “THE Sex & Pleasure Book: Good Vibrations Guide to Great Sex for Everyone.”

Penned by Good Vibrations’ staff sexologist Carol Queen, PhD, and author and editor Shar Rednour, the new book aims to demystify sex and to offer enough fun and detailed knowledge to make either solo or sociable sex fabulous for just about everyone.

According to its publisher, this book is for people of many identities, experience levels, and interests, and covers topics ranging from sexual identity to relationships and sex through the lifespan, pregnancy and health issues, disability, sex and tech, and more — delivering comprehensive information about sexual practices, positions, and of course, sex toys and products.

“THE Sex & Pleasure Book: Good Vibrations Guide to Great Sex for Everyone” draws on Good Vibrations’ 38-plus years of diverse and informative customer interactions, plus staff sexologist Dr. Carol Queen’s academic training and community experience, to deliver informative and empowering sex information, in an ambitious compendium that aims to inform and inspire sexual comfort and exploration.

“THE Sex and Pleasure Book will change lives, if you let it,” says Indiana University associate professor Debby Herbenick, PhD. “Whether you’re new to sex and looking to learn, seasoned in sex and looking to make things a little sexier, or a parent navigating how to talk to your child or teenager, this book is for you.”

“Good Vibrations has been a leader in making sex better for people of all ages, genders, orientations, and bodies since its doors first opened and it continues to blaze trails with this excellent book,” Herbenick added. “Highly recommended!”

To promote the book launch, Good Vibrations is hosting several in-store launch parties where customers can meet the authors, ask questions, hear snippets of insight and information, and get their copy signed.

The events are set for Good Vibrations Brookline Store, at 308A (rear) Harvard Street, Brookline, Mass., on Thursday, Oct. 8, from 6:30-7:30 p.m.; for the Good Vibrations Berkeley Store, 2504 San Pablo Ave., Berkeley, Calif., on Sunday, Oct. 25, from 3-5 p.m.;  and Good Vibrations Palo Alto Store, 534 Ramona St., Palo Alto, Calif., in November, with guest author Marty Klein, PhD.
