Holofilm’s Brian Shuster Featured on 'The Daily Show’

VANCOUVER, Canada — Holofilm Productions and Red Light Center founder Brian Shuster was featured this week on Comedy Central’s “The Daily Show With Trevor Noah,” discussing the future of virtual reality in adult entertainment.

During the segment, “Daily Show” correspondent Ronny Chieng took a humorous look at the advances in VR entertainment and ran a “Nightline” news clip of Shuster discussing holographic avatar technology in a virtual community.

Holofilm Productions was founded this year by legendary adult industry technologist Brian Shuster founded Holofilm Productions this year; he founded XPics Publishing in 1995 and Red Light Center in 2003.

In the “Daily Show” clip, which shows a female avatar giving a lap dance to a male avatar inside Red Light Center's virtual gentlemen's club, Shuster explained, "If you give a lap dance, the girl is right on your lap and she's moving and gyrating; the experience is remarkably real."

"The 'Daily Show' segment was funny and the technology was discussed in a light-hearted way, but VR entertainment — porn in particular — truly is the future, particularly as a revenue stream for performers hit hard by piracy and tube sites," Shuster said.

Shuster said Holofilm Productions is developing "three kinds of virtual reality sex that will blow fans away" — hologram porn, Synthologram porn and interactive holograph sex — on-demand sex with virtual porn stars.

It’s "a new technology that's going to change absolutely everything," Shuster said.

Shuster's IndieGOGO campaign is hoping to raise $250,000 in order to create high quality adult VR content.

"In the future, VR will be bigger than the Internet ever was," said Shuster, who was honored with XBIZ's Industry Pioneer Award earlier this year. "Consumers will embrace the technology once they realize how stimulating this one-of-a-kind experience is."
