TightFit Announces Output Licensing Deal With Spice Digital

VAN NUYS, Calif. — TightFit Productions has signed a new output broadcast deal with Spice Digital Networks to license its movies on the network’s four cable channels.

Spice Digital Networks operates the adult movie channels Club Jenna, Fresh!, Spice: Xcess and shorteez.

TightFit Productions President Oren Cohen told XBIZ that the broadcast output deal mostly covers the company’s new releases and a “chunk of catalog titles from last year.” He also said the Spice deal includes broadcast rights to both versions of TightFit’s movies — hardcore and softcore.

According to Cohen, TightFit’s movies will be available on both pay-per-view and linear broadcast formats.

“TightFit is a company that creates some of the best content available, and continues to be innovative on all fronts,” said Mike Spierer, vice president of programming and acquisitions for Spice Digital Networks. “The movies TightFit produces fit perfectly into the vision for our new Spice Digital Networks, and I believe this is a natural union. We have the hottest and most unique channels available, and continue to add content that lends itself to this quality.”

The broadcast deal comes on the heels of a recent announcement that TightFit will begin releasing double-sided DVDs, with a standard definition version of the movie on one side and the HD DVD version on the other side.

The company also launched download-to-burn via Direct To Disc, a service that enables customers to save entire video files of TightFit’s movies onto their computers and burn them onto blank DVDs that are playable on any standard unit.

“Working with the new Spice Digital Networks is one of the most positive and affirming steps forward on our unique journey through life as a production company,” Cohen said. “With their unique channels and marketing prowess, they’re certainly the adult distribution leader and the fact that they find merit and worth in our non-formulaic approach to adult content makes me proud to be part of the TightFit team. We’ll definitely keep the good stuff flowing.”
