The show, which airs this Thursday at 8 p.m., features a dress created specifically for the show by Syren Latex designer Jeff.
Jeff, who previously created catsuits worn in a Christmas episode of “Ugly Betty,” worked closely with series costume designer Eduardo Castro to create a dress for actress Becky Newton, who plays Amanda.
“They wanted the dress to be extremely form-fitting, so tight that Amanda can barely walk,” Jeff said. “Doing something that custom can be tricky, but Newton has such a wonderful look, and her figure is just right for latex, perfectly curvaceous. Amanda is one of my favorite characters — a real bitch, with great style.”
According to Jeff, one thing that sets Syren apart from the pack is that the company modifies its lines to keep pace with current trends in fashion and popular culture.
“A lot of latex design got stuck in the ‘80s,” he said. “We’ve definitely brought the look up to date.”
The dress, named for Amanda, will not be mass-produced, Jeff said. But it will be available on a limited basis as a couture piece.
