Hector Camacho Tapped to Lead Manhunt.net's Parent

BOSTON — The parent company of gay hookup site Manhunt.net has tapped Hector Camacho as CEO of the company.

As CEO of Online Buddies, which also operates Jack’d, Camacho said he will drive its corporate vision, create strategic clarity and drive innovation.

“I am honored to return to Online Buddies as its new leader,” Camacho said. “I am not aware of a company that is more enthusiastic and committed to serving gay men in all communities around the globe. The opportunity that lies ahead for Online Buddies is enormous; and having been trusted to lead this next chapter is deeply humbling and incredibly exhilarating.

“Over the upcoming months, I will be focused on reevaluating our individual product visions, accelerating product innovation and execution, and increasing member satisfaction.”

Camacho started his career in retail banking after graduating from Tufts University. He transitioned into the dating and adult industry in 2007 when he joined Online Buddies as director of advertising and affiliate marketing. 

After five years at Online Buddies, Camacho moved to Montreal to join Gamma Entertainment’s Buddy Profits as its senior product director. While at Buddy Profits, Camacho helped grow its portfolio of gay membership sites from 12 to more than 40, including stewarding the acquisitions and integrations of Pride Studios and Active Duty.

Camacho for the past eight years has played an active role in the gay adult industry. He has been a frequent seminar panelist, an advisor to industry leaders on new product releases and product branding, and has taken part in numerous studies of the various markets and the strategies in the space.
