LOS ANGELES — GlamorGirl magazine will print its 200th monthly edition in Jan. 2016.
"GlamorGirl launched in 1999 as an 8-page flyer and we've been bringing the Southwest United States the best of the adult entertainment world for almost two decades now," GlamorGirl publisher Rich Hansen said.
"During our first few years of publication, there were six regional adult guides operating, including GlamorGirl," added Hansen. "Private Dancer, Stilletto, Playtime, Appeal and the Spearmint Rhino backed 1Down. All of which failed after a few years, due to economic turbulence, weak editorial direction and/or lack of support from the local adult communities.
"For half a decade, GlamorGirl has been the sole regional free press adult guide operating in the Southwest United States," he continued. "The reason for our survival is that our focus hasn't always been only on the bottom line, we've always operated out of a commitment to providing a valuable service by directly reaching the adult buyer at the point of purchase.
"With thousands of adult companies vying for a little smartphone screen time of buyers who generally block their communications as 'spam' anyway, GlamorGirl stands out in today's landscape as one of the best ways to directly reach the adult buyer in-store, in-club or on-floor at adult shows with high quality advertisements displayed within a truly high quality vehicle," elaborated Hansen. "The most savvy adult companies have long recognized this and have contributed to our longevity. We are still in operation only because of the great support we've received from the most fantastic adult businesses in existence.... XBIZ and Exotic Dancer magazines have been extraordinary media partners.
"The amazing partners at Vivid, Steve Hirsch and Dave James helped us launch GlamorGirl almost two decades ago and, along with Wicked Pictures and it's visionary owner Steve Orenstein, have formed the backbone of our publication for years," he explained. "Dennis Hof at the Bunny Ranch and his incredible PR machine have been great supporters for almost ten years. The online cam companies, MyFreeCams and Cam4 have realized the benefits of our publication for their web-based businesses for over half a decade.
"L.A. Direct Models, Beamonstar, Platinum Stages and the Silver Reign and Skin gentlemen's clubs have been onboard non-stop for over 11 years now," concluded Hansen. "These and all our other advertisers have helped bring GlamorGirl to the public for 200 monthly editions and we're looking forward to many more years of publication."
GlamorGirl is distributed through regional gentlemen's clubs, adult retail shops and major regional adult expositions and tradeshows in California, Nevada and Arizona.
