SHE L.A. Preview: Writing Erotica With Rachel Kramer Bussel

LOS ANGELES — Attendees interested in writing erotica will have a unique opportunity to help spice up their love lives at the upcoming Sexual Health Expo (SHE) in Los Angeles on Jan. 16-17. SHE Sex Ed Sponsor The Pleasure Chest presents a non-fiction sex writing workshop featuring Rachel Kramer Bussel, who will share her intimate knowledge of the craft in her talk on “Writing About Your Sex Life.”

The popular wordsmith has been writing about her own sex life and doing sex journalism for more than a decade for a range of publications from women's magazines to websites to newspapers, including Buzzfeed, Cosmopolitan, Glamour, Marie Claire, O, The Oprah Magazine, Penthouse, Salon, Slate, The Village Voice, The Washington Post and more.

Now it’s SHE guests’ chance to learn "Sex Writing With Rachel Kramer Bussel" straight from an expert in the field who is the editor of “Dirty Dates: Erotic Fantasies for Couples.”

Bussel will be sharing what she’s learned, including figuring out what aspects of a person’s sex life to write about, how to write ethically about people they’ve been intimate with, how to find sources and tie a topic to current events, how to pitch essays and articles, when it's better to fictionalize a story and how to get over the hurdle of worrying about what other people will think.

A veteran of SHE, Bussel explained that it’s the perfect place for consumers to get a crash course on penning their own sexy stories.

“I was incredibly impressed with the New York SHE I attended; there's a wide range of attendees, presenters and vendors to explore and learn from. If you want to get started writing about sex, SHE is an excellent place to find out what's new in the world of sexuality, sex toys and modern relationships,” Bussel said.

Tickets to the show are now on sale, courtesy of Registration Sponsor We-Vibe. For more information, visit SexualHealthExpo.com.
