SHE L.A. Preview: Mollena to Offer Kinky Tips for 'Knowing Yourself'

LOS ANGELES  — Guests at the upcoming Sexual Health Expo (SHE) in Los Angeles on Jan. 16-17 who are curious about kink are in for a treat when speaker Mollena talks about “Knowing Yourself, Knowing Your Kink,” in a workshop from SHE’s Sex Ed Sponsor The Pleasure Chest.

Mollena said many people exploring alternative sexuality do so with little introspection and rusty communication skills. Self-knowledge and the capacity to speak aloud about fantasies, desires, wants and needs is absolutely necessary. Folks need to know their core kinks, and discover what motivates and scares them, and what they bring to the table.

Her illuminating seminar will help people form the language to address these issues and will outline the many reasons that self knowledge will help in achieving a fulfilling sense of self, and attract and maintain more suitable relationships.

The BDSM-centric class is geared for first-time newbies as well as decades-old players, all of whom Mollena said can benefit from taking a moment to slow their roll … and re-examine their role.

“I am looking forward to meeting and connecting with sexually adventurous and curious minds,” Mollena said. “I appreciate that the SHE not only offers folks the chance to buy toys and devices but has many opportunities for people to hear from sexuality experts, educators, lecturers and professionals.

“I was a part of SHE in NYC recently and was impressed by the diversity among the attendees. I hope SHE Los Angeles also manages to draw folks from a wide spectrum and welcome people from all walks of life, and from the myriad racial, gender, sexual identification and experiential pools out there! Being a person of color, it lifts my spirits to see a more diverse reflection of the human experience at sexuality events and the folks at The Pleasure Chest make sure that the lineup of guest speakers also represents a healthy diversity,” Mollena commented.

The speaker will share life-experiences in an effort to guide attendees through their own personal process, and give them a renewed sense of enthusiasm, introspection, passion and heat in their BDSM quests.
