NakedSword Film Works Unveils 'Catharsis'

SAN FRANCISCO — Following the debut of "100 Boyfriends Mixtape" and "Hattie Goes Cruising," NakedSword Film Works (NSFW) has released their third indie short film this month, "Catharsis," exclusively on NakedSword.com.

The vision for NSFW is to create and/or distribute independent gay shorts and features that combine sex with experimental filmmaking. Whether as a presenter, a producer or distributor, the goal of NSFW is to offer a wider range of gay film products to NakedSword members.

"Catharsis" explores the internal aftermath of a bad break up between two twenty-something Brooklyn hipsters. One of them finds himself through the new men he sleeps with and the haunting memories of his past relationship. The lead actor is Gabe Gonzalez, a Brooklyn-based actor and writer.

The short is directed by Robert Aquino, a born and bred New York director who has worked with the TriBeCa Film Festival, the musicians OK Go and has a hand in other Brooklyn LGBT films and videos. "Catharsis" has been shown at the L.A. Indie Film Festival and NEWFEST.

Tim Valenti, president of Falcon Studios Group and the NakedSword Network, said, "'Catharsis' is probably the most relatable of the three shorts we've released this month and I think anyone who watches it will connect to the story. I'm glad we are closing out February with this project as it is very accessible and after viewing 'Catharsis' it really stays with you and makes you think. I feel confident it will further the reach of NakedSword Film Works and our other projects."
