Angela White Featured in Documentary 'Australians on Porn'

MELBOURNE Angela White was featured in the mainstream documentary "Australians on Porn," which aired nationally on Australian television as a special live event on ABC2.

Examining Australia's views on porn, the documentary brought together people from all sides of the debate: porn stars, sex therapists, anti-porn activists and porn consumers. White appeared in a segment that explored her webcam relationship with a fan named John Haysman. The film crew captured both views of the cam session and examined the connection White shared with Haysman.

"I've been an outspoken advocate of webcamming as both an alternate revenue stream and a way of promoting one's brand and product for a long time," White said. "I've heard many porn performers lamenting the fact that piracy has resulted in less available work, and webcamming is a great way to diversify your income on your own terms and on your own schedule. Most of the fans I have met through webcamming have ended up joining my website, and a lot have also bought my Fleshlight to use in our sessions. In addition to being a great way to make money and reach a new fan base, allowing fans to get to know you also has a humanizing effect. I've had fans tell me that they find it more difficult to watch stolen content of me now that they feel they know me."

TheHeraldSun.com posted a video clip from "Australians on Porn" that featured Haysman's $300-a-week webcam habit. News.com.au delved even further by quoting White on her friendship with Haysman.

England's DailyMail.co.uk also covered "Australians on Porn." Prominently showcasing White, a DailyMail.co.uk article observed the curious relationship of a fan and professional webcam model.

White said, "In my experience, webcamming also has a positive impact on the lives of fans. I've met a lot of people on webcam who can't get intimacy elsewhere for various reasons, from social anxiety disorders and disabilities to just being too busy to go out and meet people. John was so brave to go on national television and share his experiences because there is still so much stigma attached to porn and webcam consumption. I'm glad that I can provide a safe space where John can express and celebrate his sexuality and desires."
